BEST DAYS: FOR THE DAY YOU NEED A DETOX

Hello Everyone! I’m back today with a new series “Best Days”. I spend every night lying in bed “designing” my day for the next day. I love to curate and think of activities that are not only worthy of a photograph, but really fulfilling to the soul. Today’s post is for the days when you wake up and just need a break from it all. One thing to note about these “best days” is that it doesn’t have to be an entire day. Most of the time I can block off a morning or afternoon, and fit in several little activities that totally increase my health and well being. I hope you enjoy and be sure to let me know if you give any of these a try! I am thinking of starting something more individualized with guides for your day, so be sure to DM me on Instagram if you would be interested.

Now we all have those days when we wake up and aren’t totally feeling it, or just want a fresh start. This best day practice is for those days or any day you want to clean up your routine!

Start the day with a green juice + a liter of water

I love starting my days by walking and getting a green juice. It instantly makes me feel better, whether it’s the juice or the action of “getting in some greens”. I always only get pure celery or celery, cucumber, lemon. I NEVER get juices with fruit! They contain so much sugar and the nutrients from fruit juice do not have the same effects as eating fruit in its purest form. I also like to go get a liter bottle of water. I know it seems wasteful when we can use reusable bottles; however, the act of buying a big water bottle that you like to carry around (hello smart water :) ) will help you actually drink. I have been buying Flow water because they come in non-plastic, compostable containers.

Take yourself out for coffee or a matcha

For me, part of a detox is doing these things by yourself. I love going to a cute coffee shop and sitting with a matcha and just taking time to sit and think.

Put on comfy, but cute loungewear

I am a big proponent of comfy, soft, stretchy anything. I think it’s important to have days where we have no makeup and stay in something like this all day; however, sometimes it can make us unproductive or feel a little lazy. What I have found is that finding cute loungewear will make you more inclined to do things around your house or go out and run errands so you can sport your comfy, yet cute look!

Here are a few of my favorite brands + go-to combos for looks:

-Alo Yoga, Beyond Yoga, Lululemon, Zara, FP Movement

-Put on a matching sports bra + legging set w/ a leather or denim jacket

-Take a cute t-shirt or sweater and knot it to throw on with leggings

-Tuck the front of your top into sweatpants that have a tie for an instantly more “put together” look

Make all of your meals from scratch

There is so much peace of mind you can get every once in a while from knowing you are using the best quality ingredients and where they all come from. When I really take time to think out and prepare my meals for a whole day, I always feel so much better!

Fill out your planner + make to-do lists

I like to take these days to really organize my brain :) I find that writing everything out and filling out my planner instantly makes me feel better and more at ease.

Don’t go on social media for your first hour of being awake!

This one is something I try and do almost every day and it has been really, really good for me. Having time to clear my head without any outside influence for that first hour in my day really sets me up for success.
